M1 – The Prado’s Conservation Workshop

DESCRIPTION:
During the two and a half hours visit, different restoration workshops and spaces dedicated to research and technical documentation will be visited. The spaces dedicated to restoration in the Museo Nacional del Prado will be shown, and some of the most interesting interventions being carried out at that time will be explained. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn in detail about some of the processes and exchange opinions with different specialists. Finally, a brief talk will show the first contacts and joint work between the Museo Nacional del Prado and the International Council of Museums (ICOM).
 

15.55    Puerta de Jeronimos. Entrance of the groups

16:00    Start of the three visits to the three selected spaces, all of them in the Jeronimos building itself. Each group will be made up of 15 people and a guide of the conservation area of the Prado Museum.

     Group A (Fourth floor) Painting restoration workshop / Panels paintings.

     Group B (Third floor) Sculpture restoration and decorative arts workshop. Chemistry laboratory.

     Group C (Mezzanine) Paper restoration workshop. Technical studies.

18.30    Free visit to the Prado National Museum. Optional coffee.

19:30    Puerta Jeronimos. End of the visit.

The price includes(*)
- Return ticket by train: connection Valencia - Madrid - Valencia
   Departure by train from Valencia-Madrid: 13:45h.
   Return train from Madrid-València: 20:30h.
- Transfer from the train station to the different venues of the visits in Madrid.
- Technical visit to the Museo Nacional del Prado.
- The cost of the technical visit is 97.00 € per person.
- Places will be limited to a maximum of 45 people.
- The deadline for registration for this visit will be 25 July 2023. If a minimum number of 50 participants is not reached by this date, the visits to Madrid will be cancelled and 100% of the cost will be refunded.
- Delegates wishing to book this visit should fill in the registration form for "off-program technical visits", available on the conference website.
- Upon receipt of your confirmed application/registration form, Transvia Business will contact you as soon as possible via email to arrange payment of the full amount of the booking in one instalment.
