Sophia Labadi is Professor of Heritage at the University of Kent in the UK. Much of Professor Labadi’s research focuses on World Heritage, museum studies and heritage for sustainable development. Her research is nourished by her experiences as consultant for international organisations and governments. Professor Labadi has authored 13 books, including Rethinking Heritage for Sustainable Development (UCL Press, 2022); Cultural Heritage and Outstanding Universal Value (AltaMira Press, 2012); Heritage and Globalisation (co-edited with Colin Long, Routledge, 2010), UNESCO, Urban Heritage, Development and Sustainability (co-edited with Bill Logan, Routledge 2015) and The Cultural Turn in International Aid (Routledge, 2019). She is the recipient of the 2022 European Archaeological Heritage Prize from the European Association of Archaeologists.
